NBME Call for Letters of Intent: Innovations to Advance Pathways and Bridges to Medicine Programs
Deadline: Monday, June 17. NBME is investing in pathway programs that demonstrate support of developing pathways to the medical profession through recruitment, education and retention of diverse learners. To achieve this goal, NBME - in collaboration with the Association of STEMM Pathway and Bridge Programs (ASPBP) - is requesting applications to investigate the effectiveness of strategies that increase the number of underrepresented and traditionally underserved individuals in the medical profession. These grants are intended to support pathway programs across the entire educational continuum. Community-based, elementary to high school and higher education programs are invited to submit applications that focus on evaluating the evidence for success of a particular educational or programmatic intervention strategy in accomplishing the goal of advancing social justice, broader diversity and better health outcomes. Click here for information.
Medical Science Educator Needs Reviewers
Medical Science Educator, the peer reviewed journal of IAMSE, receives over 700 submissions per year and relies on the services of our reviewers to provide thorough and efficient evaluations of manuscripts. Our goal is to provide timely, meaningful, and constructive feedback for submissions from our IAMSE colleagues as well as potential colleagues from outside IAMSE. Reviewing for Medical Science Educator has been the first step of many for getting further involved in IAMSE. We are interested in your growth professionally. As part of your training as a reviewer, you will be invited to Basic Reviewer Workshops which are run by our Associate Editors and subsequently, Advanced Reviewer Workshops. Serving as reviewer will also be one of the criteria to apply for the Editorial Board Fellowship, which will be announced in the coming months. If you are interested in becoming a manuscript reviewer, or if you are already a reviewer and need to update your classifications, please click here.
