I just choose my boneless pork chops, they are often on sale, then ask the butcher to cube them. There has never been an extra charge. Hint, you will pay more for cubed pork chops that are on the shelf. That is why I always wait and buy when boneless chops are on sale. It is worth the extra couple minutes that I wait for the butcher to cube.

I'm sure you could use regular pork steaks, Dragon! Would work just as well...just a bit different in texture. The "cube" steaks have a machine ran over them with little squares pressed into the meat--tenderizing it--therefore the name "cubed" steaks. They were just regular pork loin sliced that had been tenderized. Good luck and let me know how you like it! :-)

Are the cube steaks "tenderized" by the butcher? Could you use regular boneless pork steak? This looks so good!!

LeClare, I had never seen pork cube steaks, either. Just happened by the meat counter at Wal-Mart and there they were. Very low price. I got 4 of them for about $3. --Kn0x--
