Snow sports is another main attraction of South Lake Tahoe as the Sierra Nevada terrain and altitude provide the best slopes in California. In warmer weather, water sports are also ideal Birkholm”s Water Ski School is one of the businesses that provides instruction on water skiing for the novice. South Lake Tahoe is home to the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum, which features artifacts from Lake Tahoe”s earliest days. The casinos next door provides entertainment for adults and midways for children. Taking a hot-air balloon ride over the unique and breath taking settings of the lake and mountains is always worthwhile. Paintballing, parasailing, cycling and hiking are just a few more things to do around the city. EducationSouth Lake Tahoe is served by the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, which has 8 public schools including a science magnet schools. Within 50 miles of the city, there are 5 colleges including Lake Tahoe Community College, Western Nevada Community College, University of Nevada at Reno, Sierra Nevada College, and Truckee Meadows Community College.

South Lake Tahoe, California had a 12.5-month supply of existing, single-family detached homes in January, less than half the 26.6-month supply it had in January 2008 — if homes were sold at the current 12-month rate — according to the South Tahoe Association of Realtors Multiple Listing System.
The STAR MLS reported that the median number of days it took to sell a single-family home was 154 days in October 2013, compared with 185 days for the same month a year ago.
Home sales increased 18 percent in October in South Lake Tahoe compared with the same period a year ago.
The median price of an existing, single-family detached home in South Lake Tahoe, California during October 2013 was $325,000 a 36% increase from previous year.
Our market is much better than the national average. As a resort area, 85% of our buyers are second home buyers. We have plenty of inventory to choose from.
