Are Brilliant Earth Diamonds Real? Absolutely. Our diamonds, whether they're naturally mined, or lab grown, are real diamonds. Lab diamonds are just as real as natural diamonds – in fact, they're made from the exact same carbon particles as their natural counterparts.

Since they are made in a lab there's no cost for mining, transportation, and all other costs involved with extracting natural diamonds from the earth. As a reference, let's consider the cost of a 1 carat natural diamond vs a 1 carat lab grown diamond.

Cubic zirconia is one of the finest and most popular diamond substitutes. However, it is less durable than a diamond and can discolor over time. Lab created diamond simulants are a new development in diamond jewelry. They offer the clarity, shine, and fire of mined diamonds – without the financial or ethical costs.

If a warranty issue is found, Brilliant Earth will repair the warrantied damage or replace the item without charge. Repair or service performed by a jeweler other than Brilliant Earth will void the warranty. Brilliant Earth will replace any damaged fine jewelry within 60 days of purchase.

Outside of the 30-day return/exchange timeline, we can offer metal and gemstone credit for the materials used to create the ring. If you would like to exchange your piece, Brilliant Earth will apply a discounted rate to your new item based off of the credit from the materials of your original piece.
